Janet K. Rahn, Co-Owner and Operator of Dog Gone Sensational (DGS), has a lifetime of experience working with animals and a passion for their company that has never faded. At a young age, Janet recognized her gift for interacting and caring for the animal world, and she has honored that gift ever since.
From rescuing wildlife to touring South America with the Purina® Incredible Dog Team to appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman with her talented pups, Janet’s done it all! With years of experience and behavioral training expertise, Janet and her staff dedicate their lives to caring for man’s best friends.

Boarding Services
If you’re near Sun City Hilton Head, Margaritaville Hilton Head, Hilton Head Lakes, Okatie and Callawassie Island, we’re close and ready to take care of your dog!
Rely on our friendly staff to keep your dog safe, healthy and happy whenever you’re away from home. Boarding services and extended stays are provided at our 30-acre location on Bees Creek Road in Ridgeland, SC. The farm is the home of DGS Co-Owner and Operator, Janet K. Rahn, and has both indoor and outdoor spaces with multiple fenced areas. Two pools are also available for dock diving and swimming for the active pet.
We are all dog lovers that will be taking good care of your pet while you’re away. (Be warned: your dog may have more fun on vacation than you do!)

Our Day Care team keeps your dog happy, active and feeling loved. With our spacious facility in Ridgeland, South Carolina, we have the perfect place for them, with plenty of room to run, pools to splash and swim in and an air-conditioned indoor play area.

Meet Our Groomer Sophia Pierce
Sophia Pierce is a graduate of Merryfield School of Pet Grooming and has been trained by some of the top groomers in the industry. She has been grooming for over six years and her talents have helped achieve her dream of showing dogs all over the country in the AKC circuit. Sophia has shown at the Westminster Kennel Club and the National AKC Championship. She has shown at and specializes in Schnauzers, Poodles, Afghan Hounds and Dachshunds. Sophia has experience in most breeds of dogs and cats. She, along with all our staff, is CPR and first-aid certified.

Professional dog showing is done by Janet K. Rahn, Co-Owner and Operator of Dog Gone Sensational (DGS) and Sophia Pierce. Elite handlers, both have put AKC Championships and Group placements on multiple dogs and AKC registered breeds. They work with puppies that are learning what it’s like to live the life of a show dog to winning National Specialties with seasoned champions. When you put your dog in their capable hands, you can be confident that your dog will be presented to highlight its best attributes and gain confidence in the show ring. Your dog will travel in style, comfort and safety in Dog Gone Sensational’s 40ft Class A RV. To ensure that each dog receives individual attention and is both physically and mentally stimulated, only a limited number of client dogs are selected to travel with them. Our team of trainers offer multiple swimming classes each week. DGS can accommodate a seasoned Dock Diving dog or the young puppy that is ready to get his paws wet for the first time! Our trainers can help your dog reach his potential with distance jumping, water retrieves and swimming confidence.
